On select weekends in October (10, 11, 17, 18, 24, 25), the Dakin family opens the farm gates for a full day of old-fashioned fun: corn maze, pumpkin patch, sunflower U-pick, live music, food trucks, and hands-on fun with their cows. Fall is a special time in Myakka City; and there’s no better place to celebrate the season than at the Dakin Dairy Farms Fall Harvest Festival.
Every Saturday and Sunday in October from 10 AM to 5 PM, the farm opens its gates for a full day of farm fun the whole family will love. Get lost in the corn maze, wander the sunflower field for a U-pick bouquet, and pick the perfect pumpkin straight from the patch. Test your aim with the pumpkin cannon and apple launchers, take a ride on the Moo Train, and hop on a hayride out to the pasture to meet the cows behind Dakin’s farm-fresh milk.
Kids can cuddle a baby calf, take a pony ride, zip around on kid ATVs, and burn off energy on the giant slides and in the Kid Zone playground. Watch, and even try, a live cow milking demonstration, climb on the tractors at Touch-A-Tractor, and cheer on the lawn mower races. All of it set to live music, with food trucks and local vendors serving up your festival favorites all day long.
