Venice Youth Boating Association (VYBA) is a 501(c)(3) not-for-profit sailing organization that serves all youth of greater Venice, Florida, the only community sailing center here. Our Sailing Center is located with easy access to local bays and the Gulf of Mexico! We bring Sailing Programs to our community with the goal of benefiting youths (ages 6+) and adults as we teach them to sail on a variety of dinghy sailboats.
SUMMER LEARN TO SAIL: We offer several weeks of instruction for youths and adults from early June to mid-August. Our classes are taught on the Optimist (IODA), the Club 420, and Laser Radials. If you are interested in seeing what we’ll offer each summer, class offerings are posted and registrations begin in January!
SCHOOL YEAR YOUTH PROGRAMS: We offer several Youth Sailing Programs during the School Year (August-May). Our Club Race Team travels and competes across Florida, we host the VHS Sailing Team (beginning with JV for 8th graders), and we have our Adventure Sailing Program for youths interested in a non-competitive sailing opportunity.
ADULT SAILING PROGRAMS: The VYBA hosts two Adult Sailing leagues, the Bitter Ends (all female) and the Twilight Sailors. These sailors meet once a week to compete, practice, and have fun! We love our adult sailors and the examples they set for our younger members.
