Venice Musicale has been enriching the community through free quality music performances and scholarships for next-generation musicians since 1951. It is, in fact, the oldest continuing music organization in Venice! It is a 501(c)(3) non-profit, non-sectarian, all-volunteer membership organization dedicated to presenting local music performances to the public and, primarily, encouraging young area musicians by awarding student scholarships for summer music camps, first-year college performance studies, or private lessons.
Venice Musicale offers many opportunities for local listeners to experience excellent music. Free monthly hour-long concerts, usually presented on the third Thursday afternoon of each month from October through April, feature solo and ensemble, vocal and instrumental, selections performed by member and guest artists. Encore Chorus is featured in the December and March concerts and performs at St. Mark’s Episcopal Church. All programs are very diverse, featuring genres ranging from classical to popular, Broadway, and standards, helping to generate support for our Scholarship Program through free-will offerings. Suncoast Duo Pianists, a performing ensemble also affiliated with Venice Musicale, presents its concerts on Saturdays at Venice Public Library, and offers wonderfully entertaining four-hand piano programs. See the Concerts page on this website for time and location of each event.
Encore Chorus and Suncoast Duo Pianists are perennial favorites of area organizations and residential communities looking for quality entertainment. These Venice Musicale ensembles are available to be booked for special performances between November and April each season.
Investing in the next generation of musicians through scholarship support has been the main emphasis of Venice Musicale’s mission for nearly seven decades. Scholarships are funded through tax-deductible donations made by audience members attending our free monthly concerts, individual mail-in and online donations, designated scholarships established by individual donors, as well as other contributions. 100% of all monies received at Venice Musicale concerts goes to the Scholarship Program.
Venice Musicale welcomes music lovers of all ages and backgrounds to join us in our mission by becoming an Individual or Family Member. Venice area social, fraternal, business, and professional entities are also welcome to become Organizational Members. Membership meetings occur 30 minutes prior to each monthly concert during the season.

SCHOLARSHIP CONCERT
Concert Chair, Betsy BullisThe oldest continuing music organization in Venice finishes its 71st season with a concert performance by this year’s winning scholarship students. Our mission of providing monetary support to promising music students for continuing music studies has seen Venice Musicale give support to young area musicians in excess of $250,000 since the Scholarship Program began. The competition is open to students grades K-12 and also to those who are home schooled, all recommended by their music teachers, in the geographic area that includes Osprey to the north and Charlotte County to the south. Instruments of piano, violin, percussion, flute, other instruments, and voice may be included in these auditions that are adjudicated by a professional team of judges. All are invited to perform in the concert that is the finale of our season of free monthly concerts to the area. We invite you to come and share the talents of this year’s student scholarship winners on Tuesday, April 25, 2023, 7:00 PM, at St. Mark’s Church, 508 Riviera Street, Venice, 34285.
