The largest public croquet club in the US welcomes you! The Club was founded in 2000 by Jackie Jones, for many years the leading female croquet player in the USA, and her husband Fred Jones. Today, almost 25 years later, the Sarasota County Croquet Club continues to grow and thrive with the vital ongoing support of Sarasota County and the City of Venice. We are the site of numerous regional and national competitions annually, and in 2025 will host the World Croquet Federation Under-21 Golf Croquet World Championship, bringing outstanding young players from all over the world to Venice.
Our Club is dedicated to promoting croquet as part of an active, healthy lifestyle for our members. Filled with walking, bending, stretching, and strategy, a croquet game provides both physical and mental exercise. Jackie believed that the social aspect of croquet is the glue that binds the club together, and we carry that value today. Not only is the club the venue at which many members have achieved national recognition for their croquet skills, it is also an important part of members’ social lives. Activities such as monthly potluck suppers, happy hours, seasonal picnics and holiday dinners provide opportunities for socialization among members.
FREE TUESDAY CLINICS
Every Tuesday morning, the Sarasota County Croquet Club offers free instruction from 9:30 until 11AM (8:30am to 10:00am in the summer; check website calendar for exact times), plus the opportunity to play social golf croquet with members from 1-3PM that afternoon. Mallet provided. Non-members may come twice for free to see if croquet is for you! Monthly, weekly and trial memberships available. Come join us!
