Clyde Butcher’s powerful black and white photographs explore his personal bond with the environment. Butcher wades through swamps, rivers, bays and wetlands using large format view cameras to create large scale photographs. The epic scale of his work lets you experience the location in a way that’s almost like being there.
Clyde Butcher’s Venice Gallery & Studio is located south of Sarasota in the quaint town of Venice. Clyde’s photographs and books are on display and for purchase. Because the location also houses Clyde Butcher’s 2000-square-foot darkroom, the gallery is located in an industrial park. We are located right off Venice Ave the first left before you go over the bridge onto the island of Venice. We invite you to visit his studio today.
