Venice MainStreet Seeks Administrative Assistant

ADMINISTRATIVE ASSISTANT

Assists Executive Director, Venice MainStreet, by performing administrative and office support activities. Duties may include fielding telephone calls, receiving and directing visitors, word processing, creating spreadsheets and presentations, and filing. Basic software skills, internet research abilities and strong communication skills are required. This position reports directly to the Executive Director.

EXPERIENCE
At least three years in an administrative assistant role required. Experience with the following is a priority: Graphic design, proof reading, Microsoft Office software: Word, Excel, Outlook etc.

DUTIES:
• Answer phone and email requests
• Alongside the Executive Director and Events Coordinator, support events and fundraisers
• Writing press releases and newspaper articles
• Develop flyers and event materials
• Schedule meetings
• Take clear notes
• Coordinate volunteers
• Works to build goodwill between downtown merchants and VMS
• Other duties to be determined by the Executive Director

PARTNERSHIP:
• Actively solicits new partners
• Finds and develops new premium level, yearly sponsors

• Planning and organizing

• Customer service orientated

OTHER REQUIREMENTS:
• 25 hours per week
• Starting right away
