You may know Team KVB by its forty-four yellow-shirted volunteers who spend Thursday mornings keeping the parks, trails and beaches of Venice beautiful. They partner with the City of Venice and Sarasota County to do their work. Team KVB started out as the Pepper Patrol under Venice Area Beautification, Inc. (VABI) twenty years ago. Ten years later, it became Team KVB. How has the Team performed during those 10 years?

– Works annually in 30 sites in the Venice area
– Has given 22,700 hours of service
–  Hauled 3800 truckloads of cuttings
– Picked up 550 trash bags of litter
– Maintains the Team KVB Bromeliad Garden in Centennial Park and the garden in front of the Venice Beach Pavilion
– Sets up the Arboretum for holiday decorations placing over 8000 feet of electrical cords for guest decorators and decorates the common areas in the Arboretum.
– Responded to hurricanes Irma, Eta, Ian and Idalia.

Their truck is 17 years-old and they must plan for the purchase of a replacement, its maintenance and insurance, as well, as purchasing tools, plants and safety gear.
