A MESSAGE FROM VENICE MAINSTREET CEO, KARA MORGAN
Venice MainStreet works with over 350 businesses and nonprofits throughout Venice. Many of our business partners are in historic downtown Venice on Miami, East and West Venice, and Tampa Avenues. During the mandatory stay at home order for the state of Florida, many of our business partners used that time to make improvements, like painting, inventorying, installing new window displays or ramping up online stores. In the days before reopening, after guidelines were distributed, businesses worked diligently to change their work environments to meet the safety, cleanliness, and social distancing standards to keep their customers and staff safe.

On Monday May 4th, many of those businesses were ready to reopen. Some are taking a few more days, and others are choosing to remain closed longer. Venice MainStreet is proud of the businesses’ efforts, professionalism, and courtesy during these uncertain times. Our organization prides itself on promoting their efforts both in store and online. Yes, many of these businesses have great online stores for shopping as well. Also downtown, the beautiful expanded sidewalks, parks, and outdoor areas are just adjacent to the shopping district and offer a great outdoor experience combined with shopping and dining options.

For everyone who hasn’t been to historic downtown Venice in some time, we look forward to your safe return. Thank you for sticking with us; our business partners and nonprofits are so glad to see you both in person and online.
