Venice Area Quilters' Guild
The Venice Area Quilters Guild serves over 360 quilters in Southwest Florida. The Venice Area Quilters Guild is made up of quilters of all skill levels from beginner to professional, with interests as varied as our experience levels. We strive to promote the love of quilts, to encourage and preserve the art of quilts and quilting and to share friendship as well as knowledge with others.
Quilting by the Gulf XVII is the biennial quilt show fundraiser of the Venice Area Quilters’ Guild. The 2018 show will be a blend of old and new. Visitors will be able to peruse hundreds of beautiful quilts and a colorful variety of handmade boutique items. Fun stuff during the event includes a mini-quilt auction, silent auction quilt block sets, door prizes, and spectacular raffle baskets. The raffle ticket drawing for the stunning quilt of Venice beach and the fishing pier will be Sunday afternoon.
The Merchant Mall will provide unique opportunities for special purchases. A Mini Museum of antique quilts and modern quilts made on Featherweight machines will round out the show.
Venice Area Quilters’ Guild is a non-profit. Proceeds from our Mini Quilt auction are donated to our local food Pantry. All proceeds from our Tea Room are donated to Cancer Research.
The Guild meets on the fourth Wednesday of every month, September through April, at 7:00 PM in the Venice Community Center, 326 Nokomis Avenue,Venice, FL. 34285
