The City of Venice has an online application for organizations, clubs and businesses interested in participating in the 2023 Venice Holiday Parade downtown.
To apply, click this link: https://arcg.is/05q0HO or visit the Venice Holiday Parade webpage at venicegov.com. All applications must be submitted by 5 p.m. November 1, 2023.
About the parade & application process
The parade, set for 6:30 p.m., Saturday, Nov. 25, is now in its 47th year and welcomes thousands of spectators. For complete parade details, including early chair setup, pre-parade events, parade route, road closures, live streaming information and safety reminders, visit the Venice Holiday Parade webpage.
Longtime Venice residents Bob and Sue Hebert remain as the parade organizers and serve as the main contact for parade applicants. An automatic email will be sent to those submitting an application, confirming your application has been received and is under review. Once applications have been reviewed by the parade committee, applicants will receive additional emails, letting them know if their entry was approved or denied, and next steps. Your application does not guarantee your spot in the parade.
The City will host a mandatory holiday parade safety meeting for all approved entrants. All parade entrants will be required to attend either in person or virtually. The meeting is tentatively set for the week prior to the parade. Approved applicants will receive details at a later date.
Anyone experiencing technical issues or needing assistance with the online application should contact City Special Events and Marketing Coordinator Brianne Lorenz at 941-882-7439.

Thank you, Enviroracing, for joining Venice MainStreet as a Nonprofit Partner! “Increase your foot steps. Decrease your foot print.” Enviroracing is a nonprofit organization focused on zero waste racing. Its mission is to raise awareness in the running community (and non-running community) regarding being more environmentally responsible. That means no single-use plastics and only earth-friendly products and compostable materials. You can help their efforts through monetary donations, racing one of its events, volunteering your time, or spreading its mission.
On September 17, 2023, its EnviroRace 5K will be held in Downtown Venice. The course features two loops on the city’s famous, canopy, tree-lined West Venice Avenue. The majority of the proceeds are donated to a local environmental charity/non-profit, which is annually rotated. The Conservation Foundation of the Gulf Coast, whose mission is protecting the land and water in Southwest Florida for the benefit of people and nature, has been chosen as this year’s recipient.
[We are] “Just a couple of athletes trying to make a difference. Having done a combined 750+ races, we have seen the areas that need improvement. Having met with many race directors on ways to make a ‘greener’ race, the common conclusion was ‘great ideas but I’m not sure we want to take the plunge.’ So we decided to jump in, all the way in!”
The City of Venice Utilities Department has an upcoming short duration project to make repairs to the existing gravity sewer system. Venice Ave. Traffic will be reduced to one lane, so motorists may experience some delays. We appreciate your patience as these repairs to the gravity sewer system are made.
