Each November, the Annual Downtown Venice Art Festival, organized by Howard Alan Events and coordinated with Venice MainStreet, is held. A poster competition is held in advance of the festival, in which local artists enter their works, inspired by a stipulated poster theme, and compete to win the distinction of having their work selected as the featured image. The judges are comprised of Venice MainStreet board members and Design Committee members. The posters and t-shirts featuring the new design are then sold at the festival and at future festivals.
Where Can I Buy One?
The posters are a great way to showcase local art in your home or make the perfect gift. Proceeds from the sale of these posters benefit Venice MainStreet. Although several have sold out, many past and current year posters are still available for purchase.
